TRS-ActiveCare offers three comprehensive health plans that provide benefits for a broad range of medical and pharmacy benefit services that may happen in an inpatient or outpatient setting or a physician’s office. These three plans are the HD Plan, Primary Plan, and the Primary + Plan. ActiveCare 2 is a closed plan and not accepting new enrollments at this time. The HD Plan is a high deductible plan that provides services for in- and out-of-network care with out-of-network care being subjected to a higher deductible. On the HD plan you will have separate deductibles for services in network and out of network. The co-insurance for in network coverage on the HD is 30%. The Primary and Primary Plus plans are statewide plans that require you to select a primary care physician in order to have access to benefits from specialists; otherwise claims could be denied. Both Primary and Primary+ plans are supported by broad Texas network, but services are only covered if they are provided by in network providers. However, emergency services are always covered in or out of state for the Primary and Primary + plans. The co-insurance on the Primary plan is 30% and 20% for the Primary + plan. There are benefits that are only available on the Primary and Primary+ plans and not the HD plan. All plans’ Emergency Care Services are subject to deductible, co-pay, and additional charges.
